| Welcome to the False Confessions section of the Jim Fisher Web Site.
In the late 1980's, Jim re-investigated two unrelated murders in the Pittsburgh area from the 1950's. In each case a young boy, 11 in one case 13 in the other, admitted to the murder. Both boys confessed to the same homicide detective. Both confessions were false. In his book, Fall Guys: False Confessions and the Politics of Murder, Jim explains his investigation and how, almost 40 years later, he proved their innocence.
This section of the web site provides information on these two cases and discusses the phenomenon of false confessions in general. The web site is continually updated and expanded so check back for more information. Feel free to contact Jim with questions and comments.
